AFL Introduces IDC 2 and 4 Port Terminal Blocks
11/11/2013
Spartanburg, SC – AFL introduces Insulation Displacement Connector (IDC) two- and four-port terminal blocks created to provide extra protection for connections in the most demanding conditions. The IDC is ideal for wire-to-board, wire-to-cable and wire-to-printed circuit board applications.
“Focusing on the needs of our customers is one of AFL’s strengths,” stated Roger Vaughn, product technology manager at AFL. “The new IDC connector was built with the OEM customer in mind and is ideal for extreme telecom environments.”
The connector consists of a polyester housing with high-strength copper alloy contacts, and insulation displacement spades that accept 24-22 wire gauge. Terminals blocks are RoHS and ELV compliant.
Packaged in anti-static tubes or trays with actuators in open position, the connector is provided without grease filling to facilitate PCB manufacturing.
