AFL Associates Receive 2013 Fujikura President’s Award for LAZERMaster™ Technology

Spartanburg, SC – Several AFL associates were awarded the 2013 Fujikura President’s Award for the LZM-100 LAZERMaster, the world’s first fully automated glass processing and splicing system that utilizes CO2 laser technology. An annual award provided by Fujikura, AFL’s parent company, this honor recognizes Fujikura group companies or departments for outstanding achievement in the development of new products or processes.
“Selection criteria for this honor is driven by a number of factors, including technology achievements, economic contributions and business process improvements such as productivity and quality improvement,” said Steve Althoff, vice president of equipment at AFL. “The LAZERMaster meets all of these requirements, and we’re honored to have been chosen for this award.”
