AFL Hyperscale Presents $6,000 Campaign Donation to United Way
19/06/2017
Kent, WA and Spartanburg, SC – AFL Hyperscale, an organization that provides optical fiber and copper cabling infrastructure focused on solutions for very large data centers, presented a $6,000 campaign donation to United Way of King County. The grant was made possible by AFL Hyperscale associates in Kent, Washington and AFL’s Community Outreach Program which matched donations dollar-for-dollar up to $100.
The theme for this year’s campaign was “Be Someone’s Hero.” AFL Hyperscale kicked off the campaign with a lunch for its associates that provided insight into the local United Way and its areas of focus including ending homelessness; keeping families stable by building financial stability; supporting youth; and giving kids a chance.
“For many of our associates, it was the first time they’ve heard about United Way and what they do for our community,” commented Cathy Dill, human resources manager for AFL Hyperscale. “We learned much more about our community and the needs that exist. The stories shared were compelling and brought out a desire to help.”
Nearly 70 AFL Hyperscale associates donated to the inaugural campaign. Light Brigade, AFL’s training and education located in Tukwila, WA, also hosted a United Way campaign, presenting $6,000 to United Way of King County, bringing the total in that area to $12,000 that will support children and families.
