02/10/2017
Spartanburg, SC – AFL, an industry-leading manufacturer of conductor accessories and fiber optic cable, is exhibiting at APTA Expo in Atlanta, GA October 9-11. Stop by booth #8320 to see AFL’s newest product solutions including Rail Transit OCS Assemblies, Rail Transit OCS Components, harsh environment fiber optic cable, the Fujikura 70S fusion splicer and the M310 OTDR.
With decades of fiber optic expertise and its century-old Dossert® brand of power distribution products and services, AFL supplies overhead catenary systems and components to all major electrified systems including High Speed Rail, Light Rail, Streetcar, Electric Trolley Bus and 3rd Rail Systems.
Components that make up these systems include insulators, various types of clamps for pipe and cable applications, dead ends, section insulators, stranded and contact wire splices, compression dies and more. Assemblies include cross-spans and head-spans, cantilevers, balance weight assemblies, in-span jumpers, feeder arrangements, tunnel insulators and more.
AFL also offers a full line of cabling systems that meet specific application needs and optimize the network infrastructure including aerial, self-supporting installations along the railway catenary or other structures present on the wayside or within tunnels; loose tube cables for installation in underground ducts, trough or direct burial along the wayside; aluminum interlock armored cables, which permit direct installation within tunnels and stations eliminating the need for conduit and enabling fast installation in crowded locations. Cables include LSZH Loose Tube, Flex-Span™ ADSS, MicroCore®, Copper/Fiber Composite and more.
AFL will be demonstrating the Fujikura 70S, a fully ruggedized, core alignment fusion splicer that provides consistent, low loss, splice performance, and the M310 OTDR featuring AFL's TruEvent™ Technology, advanced event analysis software that accurately detects, locates and measures network events such as splices, connectors, breaks and macro-bends.
AFL’s power distribution products support global High Speed Rail, Light Rail, Trolley, Electric Trolley Bus and 3rd Rail Systems. To learn more about AFL, its products and services, stop by booth #8320 at APTA or visit www.AFLglobal.com.
