Light Brigade Receives United Way Recognition

Tukwila, WA and Spartanburg, SC – The Light Brigade, AFL’s training and education division, was recognized by United Way of King County with the Outstanding Employee Campaign Award for its 2017 United Way annual campaign. Light Brigade associates increased their annual donation by 40 percent while increasing its participation percentage. The $6,000 donation, made possible by Light Brigade associates and AFL’s Community Outreach Program, will help support United Way’s youth programs.

“We are honored to be the recipient of this United Way campaign award,” commented Lee Kellett, general manager for Light Brigade. “Our associates received a greater understanding of the need in our community and showed their support by increasing their pledges. We look forward to an even bigger campaign next year.”

This year’s United Way campaign was held in the spring with the theme, “Be Someone’s Hero.” The campaign kicked off with a “super-hero” lunch presentation by United Way representatives. Light Brigade will embark on the next United Way campaign in the spring of 2018.
