Rob Crowder is vice president of finance, chief financial officer and secretary, responsible for overall finance, accounting and information technology at AFL. He has served in this capacity since 2007. In addition to his role at AFL, Rob is actively involved in the strategic and financial activities of several other Fujikura group companies, including Fujikura Automotive America (FAA) and Fujikura America Incorporated (FAI). He serves as vice president and secretary for both entities. He also serves as chief financial officer of Nistica, another affiliate of AFL.

Rob has played an important role in AFL’s strategic initiatives and corporate transactions, including the acquisitions of Verrillon, Tier2, Dossert, Northstar, ALTA Group and Light Brigade® in North America; TCC, Optronics, and Draka’s OPGW business in Europe; and Optimal Cable Services and AFC Group in Australia. Recently, Rob structured a joint venture in which AFL contributed its stock of Optronics and assets were contributed to form AFL-IG. As chief financial officer, Rob spearheaded the company’s implementation of a world-class reporting and ERP system, and implemented Sarbanes Oxley compliance standards in accordance with Japanese law. Further, Rob led AFL’s efforts to drive greater cost and capital efficiency throughout the organization.

With more than twenty-five years of financial management experience gained in both domestic and international manufacturing environments, Rob previously held financial management positions with Celestica, a multinational electronics manufacturing services company, and Greif Corporation, a global provider of industrial packaging. Immediately prior to joining AFL, he served as corporate controller at Kemet Corporation, an electronic components manufacturer.

Rob is a graduate of the College of William and Mary where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration. He is also a certified public accountant. Rob serves on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity of Greenville as Vice Chairman for 2017 and Audit Committee Chairman.  In addition, Rob teaches Sunday School at his church as well as participates on the finance committee.
